Overview

A female artist born in Britain, Julia Beatrice How was active in France, where she moved to study at the Academie Delecluse around 1893. In 1902, she began exhibiting her works, starting with the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts. 

She was known for her still life and figure paintings but is best recognised for her works depicting maternal affection that use mother and children as subjects.
